Climate

Located in the Tempered Austral Zone of the South Hemisphere, Uruguay enjoys a moderate climate. The average temperature in spring is 17° centigrade; in summer 25°; in autumn 18° and winter 12°. The extreme temperatures reach, exceptionally, in summer 40° and winter 2° or 3° below zero. Throughout the year most of the day are sunny although the changes in the weather conditions are frequent. The predominant winds from the North, humid and warm and the Pampero and South winds, dry and cold.

The official currency is the Peso Uruguayo.
